Come and literally join me on my literary journey!

Thoughts…just a little poem.

One, two three

We march in pace.

Time is passing

We join the race.

Working, toiling,

Getting older.

Weaker, sleepier and a bit

Till suddenly we’re

Aware — life is ending.

This is it,

We’re comprehending.

That we’re missing, while on duty,

Happiness, nature

And all the beauty.

Only travel culture and our health

entails the true multitudes of wealth

Therefore people — wise up in time!

Living it up doesn’t cost a  dime.

Just look out, and up, and see the sky,

Do as the birds,  just fly just fly!

Don’t hesitate,

Before it’s too late:

Babble and babble,

Travel and travel!

  1. I babble AND travel. I babble far too much. Maybe that’s why my jaw is so sore, it’s perhaps worn out? LOL I love your poetry, Angelika. Can’t wait to read more in your new book!!!

  2. lol Sharon.. I know you travel, and I love when you babble about it. 🙂

  3. I am regrouping at the moment. Taking it easy. Seizing another kind of moment that I am not used to doing. I have a nagging pain what I think is my right hip area. I decided,to listen to my bod and take it easy. It seems to be working! I hope it is. It would be a new discovery for me. Kind of like traveling…. Traveling for real is like diving into a cold lake and coming out in the sunshine. You feel cleansed and reborn and so ready for new times! Your poem started a whirlwind of thoughts and dreams within me. I love it!

  4. Iva, we must be connected at the hip, because I’m having problems with my right hip at this time too. This is almost funny. I’m going to the doctors tomorrow; he’ll probably subscribe physical therapy.
The word – traveling- is meant to be symbolic, another way to say we are widening our horizons; we can only do what we are physically and financially able to do. But like you, I’ve discovered that sometimes we don’t have to go so far to see the beauty in nature. I catch myself getting too comfortable at home, so this was a reminder for me to get up and move. 

  5. Here I am, looking for closure, and you provide a measure here, out of the blue…

    How about that?

Lovely poem, much appreciated.. Thank you.

  6. Thanks for the inspiration, Angelika. Your clever poem makes me want to “go for the gusto”! 🙂 It’s too bad travel has become more and more expensive, otherwise we’d be doing a lot more of it. On the other hand, even short excursions to different places are fun and educational.

  7. Hi Todd, so nice to get to know a fellow poet. I’m going to mosey over to your site, and give my eyes a feast. See you there, and thank you so much for commenting.

  8. Debbie, when I think how people from around the world travel to your part of the country and to my part as well, I’m fine with traveling around in the vicinity… and sleeping in my own bed at night. It has its advantages too. :-)… I’m so happy that my little poem inspired you. 🙂
